Canyon Light

A family estate in the Calabasas hills, designed to be lived in all day and late into the evening. Inside, warm oak and soft plaster-white walls let a bold art collection lead: a cognac velvet sectional beneath a large figurative painting, shearling chaises under a burst of color in the sunroom.

The house opens to the outdoors in every direction: a pool with a sunken lounge, a fire terrace under a steel pergola, an outdoor kitchen and a curtained cabana that catches the last light over the hills. The private rooms are playful and personal, from a papered bedroom with a scalloped velvet daybed to a starlit playroom and a grooming room with its own barber’s chair.
